prototype for an interactive lounge
student work, Cal Poly (2000)
Multiple media-rich lounges around the world interact simultaneously through virtually connected architecture. Transparency and translucency were studied as experiential analogues to this proposal. This protypical model was constructed to develop ideas of layered space which intended to give users a sense of privacy while maintaining visual connections to more public areas. Model materials included extruded acrylic, polygal, mylar, aluminum tubing, and museum board.
